When the hills of Eastman turn red and gold, it’s hard to resist the call for a gourmet escapade. This fall detour proposes three not to be missed locations where local authenticity and know-how merge, as well as a scenic stop to admire the breathtaking panorama. From fine pastries and local products to a refined table d’hôte, indulge in the magnificence of Eastman’s beauty and flavours.

Pâtisserie Dorville

Going through Eastman without stopping at the Pâtisserie Dorville just isn’t done! Set in the heart of the village, this gem of a bakery was founded by a couple, Christine and Christophe, as an enterprise born of a shared passion for craftmanship. After five years supplying hotels and restaurants, they opened their boutique to cater to the strong local demand. You will find exquisite pastries, fine chocolates and a delicious range of ready-to-eat foods, as well as a good selection of cheeses, baked goods, local alcoholic beverages and choice regional products. Each visit delivers a new, authentic experience blending local flavours and craftsmanship. An essential stop on your journey to discover the local treasures of Eastman and the Eastern Townships.

Mademoiselle Nature

A four-minute walk away from Pâtisserie Dorville stands Mademoiselle Nature, a breath of fresh air in the food world. Founded in 2021 by Karine Racicot, this unique grocery store reinstates the human at the heart of the food supply chain. Here, each product has a history, a face and a clear place of origin. Karine deals directly with Quebec producers, without any go-between, to offer more than 400 local, natural, additive-free products such as meats from free-range animals, fish for the Magdalen Islands, oils, cereals, sweet “petits pots” and much more. As you walk in, you will experience the warmth and authenticity of a place where quality, respect and openness have merged with passion. A must for anyone seeking a real taste of Quebec!

Huit5Quatre Table d’hôte

At a mere seven minutes’ drive away, Huit5Quatre offers a rare and intimate gastronomical experience. Nestled in a Scandinavian decor in the heart of Eastman, this human-sized table d’hôte is managed François and Laura, whose warm welcome transforms every meal into an unforgettable moment. There is only one seating, a limited number of guests and a surprise menu created by chef François Lessard, a French trained chef inspired by Canada’s West Coast. Featuring local ingredients sourced within a 30-km radius, each dish celebrates the season and pays tribute to creativity. Soft lights, carefully chosen wines, a slow pace… here, guests take the time to savour, to connect and to live an authentic dining experience.

*Bonus stop : Chemin du Lac d’Argent

Between Mademoiselle Nature and Huit5Quatre, make a contemplative pause at the vantage point on chemin du lac d'Argent to take in a breathtaking panoramic view over Lac d’Argent and the surrounding mountains’ ever-changing seasonal colours.  Make a detour on the chemin Petite-Rivière to discover a weel-secret access with a view of lac d'Argent, a picnic table and relaxation chairs wait for you.  This is a perfect spot to breathe deeply, admire Eastman’s natural beauty and immortalise the moment before continuing on your gourmet adventure. Lovers of authentic scenery take note: this stop is a must!
