À découvrir

Ahhh, Georgeville! It’s beautiful, it’s peaceful; it makes one yearn to stay the entire weekend, especially upon espying McGowan Inn on the lakeshore and realizing that everything here is at a walking distance. First stop: the Georgeville General Store. Its charm of olden days has been preserved, showcasing an all-wood interior, vintage decor and shelves filled with local products: craft beers (La Memphré, Micro des Cantons), Face de Bœuf meats, cheeses from the Abbey, homemade breads and pies, and Fitch Bay and Faro coffees. It’s the perfect place to refuel! Rustle up cheeses and charcuteries and, with a good bottle under your arm, head over to the wharf for a lakeside apéritif with view on the mountains. Indeed, the Georgeville wharf, just a few steps away, opens up the view on Lake Memphremagog for swimming, admiring the sunset or simply for contemplation. Studio Georgeville (an art gallery) and the Bigelow Garden, a serene garden created in 1993 by the Historical Society to commemorate the pioneer families, complete the stroll. Head to the McGowan Inn to prolong your stay overnight: cozy rooms, a restaurant, a waterside terrace and breakfast with a view await you ( rates are around $300 per night and vary seasonally). Everything in Georgeville is at a walking distance for a simple, yet unforgettable gourmet holiday experience.
