Île du Marais de Katevale

We can’t say it enough—this place is magnificent! Recognized as one of the most exceptional natural heritage sites in the region, the marsh was designated a protected sanctuary in 1984. It covers 150 hectares and offers four kilometers of trails accessible year-round, including a section built on a former railway line from the Waterloo–Sherbrooke route, which operated from 1884 to 1888.

The marsh is an important refuge for biodiversity, home to more than 190 species of birds as well as painted and snapping turtles.
